Catcher in the Rye by micahgoulart Catcher in the Rye by micahgoulart
Photo of my sister taken in one of Goiá s's endless fields. I loved the tall grass and the peaceful effect it gave. Any resemblance to Gladiator is mere coincidence. :)

maybe it fits with the title, but for some reason i think that the blue isnt so great for the picture...it takes away the harmony in this pic...to me, at least...its kind of unsettling...but its still a fantastic pic....great clouds, beautiful field, and good composition....

I love this photo. Its PERFECT for The Catcher in the Rye. I love how the only part of the picture that is in color is the sky, which is blue, the color that Salinger uses constantly throughout the novel to symbolize innocence. And the clouds, which are white that means purity. And its in a vast field...ahhh sorry LOL I must seem crazy. The shot itself is very good, and gives a peaceful feeling. Great job!

I'm guessing this was taken the same day as your brother's deviation "requiem of a dream".

Yours is similar in location, but quite a different vision. Very nice. :)

This is really nice but I think the bright blue sky is detracting from the beautiful photo itself. I think a lot more could have been taken from this shot if you left it up to the veiwer to decide what kind of sky it was... dark and stormy.. sunset...sunrise... just my opinion.. its lovely though.. i didn't think gladiator til i read your description.

Great idea. I like it. I notice that the desaturation bleeds into the sky a bit. If you fixed that it would be perfect.

I'm still new to PS, so I don't know quite how you pulled it off, but I love how you kept only the sky saturated.

a fantastic book, & you convey the air of that passage of holden's aspirations really nicely. open spaces & the hint of something better somewhere amidst the monotony. nice work. i'm glad you commented on my picture, because it's exposed me to a wonderful gallery [yours!].

I really don't like the book 'Catcher in the Rye', but this is a good photo :) I love the clear separation of the colours and greys. I don't know if you've actually read the book, but this is the same image I got while reading the poem in the book. Nice job
