last year during the rainy season here in Goiás, some awesome storms came rolling across our valley. Because we live on a plateau, we could see them coming about 15 mins before the rain started, so I always took the opportunity to take some shots.
For this particular photo, I went out half a mile into the valley above a small hill and took this panorama. The storm was breath-taking, with dark ominous clouds bearing straight down the valley like a stampede of black horses. I lingered as much as I could, then ran back after I started to hear the rain hitting the trees a couple hundred yards away. I made it back with a couple drops on my back. About 30 seconds later the downpour began. I had no protection for my camera, so I was glad that I was able to make it in time. I even had to scale a wall...something I did surprisingly fast considering i only had use of one hand. Nothing like an adventure to make a photo special. I believe in Jesus Christ my Savior. If you do too and aren't scared to admit it then copy and paste this in your signature.
When photographing rainstorms, always start by standing in the middle of a field, away from tall objects.
Next, use the biggest metal tripod you can carry. Get help if you need to.
Third, hold your fill flash as high over your head as you can...
And most importantly, steady the tripod with your bare foot (wouldn't wanna get your sandals wet), and stand RIGHT NEXT to the biggest metal reflector you can find, while you do this...
And lastly, leave a duly signed and notarized "current" will. You'll have plenty of light to write it in as you'll be surrounded by illuminous bolts... In it specify that you're leaving ALL your photographs to me.
Just because you live there, in that beautiful country, doesn't mean you're entitled to keep all the evidence.
Once again... GREAT Job!
I still hate you.

Don't kid yourself, this is disturbing. Stories coming out about degrading photographs, nude pyramids, sexual humiliation. I'm talking about Bill Clinton's Bio!

There are two essential basic strategies for success in photography:
1. Never reveal all you know.
