Some amazing Great White Shark photosPhotographer Dana Allen took some insane photos of great white sharks off the coast of South Africa. Below is my favorite... Check out the flying tooth. Sharks routinely lose some teeth in a kill, which are quickly replaced. Some sharks use up over 30,000 teeth in their lifetime.

The Cicada Shell AdventureSo I went on a hike with my kids and ran across this cicada shell, which the cicada leaves behind after it molts. Looks just like the insect but it's empty. The kids wouldn't go near it.One more look at the faces of terror...And now the video of their reaction when I gave them an impromptu up-close look. Here's what a live one looks like:

DT 2012 Baguette meet at BreadlandsPlaceOur dt development team is 100% remote. Or team is also fairly evenly distributed across a couple continents and several timezones, with many of the developers hailing from UK, France and other European countries. This year, those Europeans managed to coerce North America based developers to get their papers in order and tricked them into embarking on the long flight. dASAW 2012 Interview: #ArtBit:iconstaffappreciation: dASAW Interview Series: ArtBIT Hello and welcome to Staff Member interview of deviantART Staff Appreciation Week! So, here is interview with awesome ArtBIT! 1. How did you discover deviantART, and what made you stay?I've first discovered deviantART when I was searching for some Photoshop tutorials years ago. When I've submitted my first Photoshop works, I received some really great feedback from the community, and that inspired me to create more, and that is what made dA my home 2. Tell us the story behind your username and/or prior dA accounts.I've only used one dA account, this one. When I've first tried creating an account on dA, all the usernames that I used to sport on various websites, were already taken, and I had to think of a new one. Since two of my greatest passions in life are art and prog
How to feel better and like a lot of things moreA lot of people seem to be convinced that in order to feel better, others need to change, that things need to change, need to be changed, by others.Though bad change is bad and must not happen. As if you're the center of life and as if you're so entitled to be completely satisfied that it's everyone else's duty to make that happen for you.Everything and anything that isn't right for me is the most important thing, more important than anything else!Or so we wish.Nobody is entitled to anything at all.Self-entitlement is but a twisted sense.Nobody owes you your own happiness. It's only you.You could like a whole lot of things much more if you would stop yourself from insisting that everything exists in accordance with your comfort zone. You could feel a whole lot better that way.You could also feel a whole lot better if you'd allow yourself to take things just for what they are, as they are, whatever they may be.Admit to yourself that barely anything that you insist is so importa
HEROES We all have our heroes. When I was a teenager I had an alter ego - - someone I would have preferred to be and whom I thought I might become. That person was Bob Dylan. He has since become my hero, no longer a delusion, and my favored candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.Bob Dylan was at first defined by his music but he became just as much defined by his “look” and his aspect. In a time before music videos, those were found in photographs. The photographer most responsible for showing us Bob Dylan when I was a teenager was Daniel Kramer. I didn’t know that then. But
A brief history of FellaWe all know Fella. If you have been a member of deviantArt for at least 1 day it's quite probable you've encountered him at least once, he's everywhere! And this shouldn't come as a surprise, he's dA's mascot after all! But how much do you know about him? Let's take a look at a Brief History of deviantART's mascot.Fella was brought to life thanks to switched, who designed him back in April 2001 for a mascot contest. Back then he didn't look exactly as we know him today, his figure was a lot more basic and circular and his expression wasn't as human as we're used to today. However his main features remain, his mischievous look and his colors, most probably based on the site layout's at the time
Holiday Card Project 2016 Wrap-Up!The Holiday Card Project celebrated its 10th year of bringing smiles and joy to those in need this last December of 2016. White Roses for an Eternal BondThere is a song, White Rose of Athens, sung by Nana Mouskouri, and with its haunting lyrics, it was one of my mother's favorites. "So goodbye my love till then Till the white rose blooms again" I had been living in Athens Greece for six years, and it was from there that I sent my mother the first gift of white roses as a "Mother's Day" gift. But I sent it on my birthday. In my early twenties, I came to the realization that my birthday was not only about me being born on that day. The special day was also about my mother, who had given me the most wonderful gift of all... life! How can it be that Mother's Day and Birthdays have been so unnaturally "separated?"White Roses for an Enternal BondBy jeanpatMay 13, 2012There is a song, White Rose of Athens, sung by Nana Mouskouri, and with its haunting lyrics, it was one o
