The Beauty of Yosemite -Part5 by micahgoulart The Beauty of Yosemite -Part5 by micahgoulart
Another attempt at capturing the essence of Yosemite's beauty. A feeble attempt, but here it is nonetheless.

This is the last of 5 scenery shots of Yosemite. Below are the other four:

The Beauty of Yosemite - Part I

The Beauty of Yosemite - Part II

The Beauty of Yosemite - Part III

The Beauty of Yosemite - Part IV

I don't think it was such a feeble attempt at all. :+fav:

I love Yosemite and this shot really captures what it feels like. Wish it could be printed HUGE so people who've not been there could really see it. But you do capture the spirituality of all that rock.

I came to your gallery via the daily deviant's favorte list. Really good work. I picked this one to comment on but I could have chosen many.

You actually did a very good job of capturing the shot, I can "feel" the scenery, and I can usually only do that if I'm either A) there or B) have a well taken shot. All in all, nice work!

lets take a moment to thank Ansel Adams for perserving the yosemite parks.

/me whistles

its so hard to take a bad picture in this park.. and this picture is awesome. i love the detail but imo the only thing that would make this better if the tree's on the bottom right were gone so u could see the base of the mountain

nice shot man, nothin' like the view of the Yosemite Valley during a sunrise or sunset...especially if the mists are in full force...

i have a couple Yosemite shots in my gallery you might like...

Overall, this is one of the most unique series of shots I've ever seen of Yosemite. It's got such a unique coloration and warm feel to it. What time of day did you take them? Were all 5 taken around the same time?

yeah, they were mostly taken around the same time... about 3 hours in between them.

Was it just normal daylight, or was it around sunrise or dusk/sunset?

it was at sunset, hence the orangish light.

Another creative look at Yosemite... this is not your average park shot.. you've created tension and drama with the way you've cropped the mountain, and the sky is fab.
Great capture!

Very nice. I like how the rocks rise up from the layer of trees, which really does "capture the essence" of Yosemite's beauty. It's interesting how you've cut off the top of the rock formation on the right side; it makes the rocks feel more massive, which captures the feeling when one's in the valley, looking up at them.

The only thing is, I don't think California's in Brazil. ;)
